The Truth About The Unlimited Influence of You Reaching Your Spiritual Capacity

Michael Atunrase Sr.

“ …. let us deal shrewdly with them, lest they multiply …” (Exodus 1:10).

Pharaoh’s concern was about Israel’s future; that is, Israel’s potential or what Israel could be. Potential is the capacity to develop into something in the future. People around us respond either positively by encouraging us to cultivate our potential or negatively by discouraging us from developing and reaching our potential.

What would happen if the Israelites grow to be more than they were already? They were already more and mightier. Pharaoh did not want them to grow any further. If they grew to a certain number, they might be able to defend themselves. There was a time the Philistines kept Israel defenseless by making sure that they had no blacksmiths to make weapons to defend themselves. Imagine, there were no weapons for the army. Spiritual immaturity will leave you defenseless, and a cheap victim of Satan and his cohorts.

19There were no blacksmiths in the land of Israel in those days. The Philistines wouldn’t allow them for fear they would make swords and spears for the Hebrews, 22So on the day of the battle none of the people of Israel had a sword or spear …” (1 Samuel 13:19, 22 NLT).

Pharaoh anticipated the potential power of Israel’s continuous growth, and therefore planned to stop them from further growth. The effectiveness of military strategy depends entirely upon whether all possibilities have been foreseen. A military war strategist once said that, “anticipation is key to winning any war”. Anticipation produces readiness, readiness leads to preparation, and preparation is key in winning any war.

What is Spiritual Potential?

God has already deposited all the resources and the gifts you need to fulfill your destiny, that is, His purpose and plan for your life. These gifts need to be discovered, developed, and then deployed. Anointings, giftings, ministries or life assignments come in stages or levels. As you put forth efforts to grow; you will begin to tap into and draw from your divine reserves to release your full potential. Your personal gift is to lead you to develop into a full stature in Christ, where you can operate in your full capacity.

There is Always a Force Against Anything or Anyone Rising

It takes more power for the airplane to take off, than it takes for it to cruise in the air. There is always a force against anything or anyone rising. The enemy will resist you growing into your full potential in Christ. In commercial greenhouse and nursery production, croppers use chemicals as one of many ways to control crop height. Crops can grow very tall and become unmanageable in greenhouses and nurseries, and so to eliminate this problem, croppers use chemical retardants. In this way they can achieve crop-specific height, by applying the right plant growth retardants (PGRs). Check for growth retardants in your spiritual life, whatever might be hindering your growing into your rightful place in the body of Christ. The enemy is concerned that you might grow more in influence or develop more of your spiritual faculties. What would happen in the world, if the body of Christ discovers, develops and deploys the unlimited power of the Holy Spirit in the world?

The Devil Fears You Might Grow to Realize Your Full Potential in Christ

One of the greatest concerns of the Devil, is your spiritual growth. He fears you might grow to realize your full potential in Christ. What would happen if you grow more in spiritual power and increase in spiritual knowledge, wisdom, and spiritual understanding? Imagine the difference in your life and the powerful impact in the life of others around you, from growing more in prayer and making much of the grace of God upon your life.

The Grace Capacity

The Apostle Paul challenged the Corinthian Christians on this subject of ensuring that they do not receive God’s grace in vain, but fully utilizing the grace capacity on their lives.

“We then, as workers together with Him also plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain”  (2 Corinthians 6:1).

But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me” (1 Corinthians 15:10 KJV).

The Apostle Paul shared his secret of growing in Christ, with the Philippian Church:

Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me” (Philippians 3:12).

In other words, I am constantly striving so that, I may be able to reach my spiritual capacity; thereby releasing my full potential, and fulfilling the purpose for which Christ (the Messiah) called me.
